Loki's Redemption Chapter 1

Back at the city of Asgard Thor and Loki finally arrive on what’s left of the rainbow bridge, and as always Heimdall was there watching over the cosmos. The arrival back was a bit bumpy and Thor had to steady his brother once they landed since he was banged up.

“Greetings Heimdall it sure feels good to be back with my brother at last, despite the incident that occurred” Thor said happily looking between Loki and Heimdall in response his brother just groaned.

“Odin has requested your presence in the throne room” Heimdall replied looking at Thor but then looked at Loki, remembering what he put him through and it still made him angry just thinking about it.

“We will head there at once, come Loki you have a lot of explaining to do” Thor said his brother just glared at him, with that said Thor grabbed his arm and made their way to the Throne room. Once they got there they stopped right outside of it.

“Now listen brother whatever happens in here I want you to know that I am here for you, even if I’m a little disappointed in you. I will do everything I can to reduce your punishment I’m not giving up on you; we will get through this together. That’s what a brother does and never forgot that I care about you” Thor said in a gentle voice with his hands on Loki’s shoulders. When Thor looked at his brother’s face he noticed they were closed and a few tears trickling down his cheeks.

*Loki’s Thoughts*

Fool why must you think that you can understand my pain that I go through, you have no idea it feels like. Why is your words effecting me it’s not that I feel the same, I’m not you’re brother I never was you’re an idiot if still think so.

The next thing Loki knew was someone putting their arms around him to pull him into a hug, when he opened his eyes he saw that it was Thor he just leaned his head on his shoulders. Since that was the only he could do because he was in chains, he had no idea why he was doing this it didn’t make any sense. Could he really care that much for his brother? Or could it be that he felt guilty for what he had done?
When Thor pulled back he wiped away his and his brother’s tears and firmly grasped Loki’s hands and calmly spoke to him.

“Are you ready for this brother?” Thor asked and Loki nodded slowly and took a deep breath, turning towards the door. Thor opened the door as it creaked open they saw that Odin was on his throne with Frigga at his side, they made over to the stairs and kneeled before the Allfather.

“Welcome home my sons’ I’ve been expecting you, Thor will you please remove the chains and gag from Loki I must speak to him” Odin said firmly he needed an explanation for what has happened.

“Yes father” Thor said then proceeded to remove the chains then the gag which caused Loki to flinch at the pain of taking it off, he rubbed his jaw to relieve the discomfort.

“Now that you can talk, would you mind explaining why you caused such destruction Loki?” Odin said calmly so he wouldn’t cause his son to disappear since he just got him back after a long time.

“I was trying to prove myself worthy of the throne you once said that me and Thor were both destined to be king, but all this time you only going to give to him. You never gave me a chance” Loki said harshly trying to get his point across breathing heavily.

“Do really think that hurting people and causing destruction is any way to prove yourself worthy?” Odin said firmly staring intently at Loki.

“DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH PAIN YOU CAUSED ME THAT DAY, WHEN YOU REVEALED MY TRUE HERITAGE TO ME. MY LIFE HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME SINCE, ALL THOSE YEARS THINKING I WAS ASGAURDIAN WHEN I NEVER TRULY WAS, INSTEAD I AM A MONSTER THAT YOU ALWAYS SAID WAS WHAT WE SHOULD FEAR AND HATE.” Loki yelled out in sadness with tears streaming down his face and clenching his fists.

Odin could sense the anger and hurt in his son and could feel how broken he was, he could just imagine how that would take a toll on his life.

“My son I only did what was best for you, I didn’t want you to feel like an outcast because of where you were from. That is why I never told you it was something that should have never surfaced, that is what a father does is protect their children” Odin answered standing up and making his over to Loki with Frigga right behind following suit.

“Loki darling we were so worried about you, we thought we had lost you” Frigga said while pulling Loki into a hug rubbing circles in his back trying to soothe him. He stood there shaking not knowing what to think anymore before slowly returning the embrace, with a single tear running down his cheek. Frigga was the only one who understood what he was going through and was the only one he could call family.

“Why would you care for such a monster like me and after all I have done, I don’t understand” Loki choked out.

“Because you’re our son and we love you” Frigga answered softly she knew what her son did was wrong, but right now all she cared about was having him home.

“No, I never was your son I was only living a lie and you don’t really love me” Loki said pulling back from Frigga and slowly backed away.

“Loki if we didn’t love you why would we have raised you all those years?” Frigga explained trying to get across Loki head, but he only backed away further.

“You expect me to believe that all those years I spent feeling alone avoided from everyone was love, you’re fools if you think I will give into that. You’re a sorry excuse for so called parents” Loki snapped which just broke Frigga’s heart She put her hand over her mouth and tears brimmed her eyes, she couldn’t believe he would say that.

“LOKI ODINSON you show some respect” Odin said raising his voice looking intently at his son, who just glared back.

“I’M NOT AN ODINSON!!!, and you have no right to tell me what to do” Loki barked which only caused Odin to back hand him, with his head still turned to the side he reached up and held his face where he was hit. He slowly looked up as a single tear fell and stared angrily at Odin.

“I hope you’re happy Allfather” Loki said then disappeared right on the spot, he did not want to deal with anyone right now all he wanted was to be alone.
